Check B & R pork products for excess nitrite

B & R Meat Processing recalled approximately 569 pounds of cured ham, bacon, and jowls produced between July and October 2014 because they contain nitrite levels above the legal limit. These products were shipped to retailers in Arkansas. No illnesses have been reported so far.

  • Check packages of B & R cured ham, bacon, or jowls with production dates from 7/1/14 to 10/7/14 (look for establishment number Est.46910 on the USDA mark)
  • Do not eat these products
  • Return them to the store where you bought them or throw them away
  • Call your doctor if you ate any of these products and feel sick
