Grossglockner pork sausage recalled for undeclared wheat allergen

Stop using Wegmans Handcrafted Bangers sausage

Grossglockner Inc. recalled about 204 pounds of Handcrafted by Joseph Brunner Wegmans Bangers sausage because the package label is wrong. The sausage contains wheat in the breadcrumbs, but the label doesn't say so, which could cause a reaction in people allergic to wheat. The affected product has lot number 18716 and a sell-by date of 08/24/2016.

  • Check your freezer for 16-oz. Wegmans Bangers packages with lot number 18716
  • Do not eat the product if you or anyone in your household has a wheat allergy
  • Return the package to any Wegmans store for a refund or replacement
  • Call the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 1-888-674-6854 if you have questions
