Throw out Cargill ground beef from June 2018
Cargill Meat Solutions recalled approximately 132,606 pounds of ground beef products produced on June 21, 2018, because they may contain E. coli O26 bacteria. The contamination has been linked to 17 illnesses and one death, with cases occurring between early and late July 2018. These products were shipped to retail stores nationwide and may still be in consumers' freezers.
- Do not eat ground beef products with establishment number EST. 86R made on June 21, 2018.
- Throw away the recalled product or return it to the store where you purchased it.
- Wash your hands, cutting boards, and utensils thoroughly if you handled the product.
- Seek immediate medical care if you develop bloody diarrhea, vomiting, or signs of kidney problems (bruising, pale skin, low urine output).
