Johnston County Hams deli ham products recalled for potential Listeria contamination

Johnston County Hams in Smithfield, North Carolina is recalling approximately 89,096 pounds of ready-to-eat deli ham products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The affected hams were produced between April 3, 2017 and October 2, 2018 and were sold in Maryland, North Carolina, New York, South Carolina, and Virginia. Four cases of Listeria infection, including one death, have been linked to these products.

  • Do not eat any deli ham from Johnston County Hams (EST. M2646 on label)
  • Throw away the product or return it to where you bought it
  • Check your freezer—some products may be frozen
  • If you or a family member ate this ham and feel flu-like symptoms within 2 months, contact a doctor and mention this recall
