Hill Country Fair chorizo recalled for undeclared peanut allergen

Don't eat Hill Country Fair chorizo

Garcia Foods, Inc. recalled approximately 190,450 pounds of Hill Country Fair brand chorizo because the products may contain peanuts that were not listed on the label. The affected products were produced between October 5 and December 24, 2014, and were sold in Texas. No illnesses have been reported.

  • Check your freezer for Hill Country Fair Chorizo in 12-oz or 8-oz packages produced between October 5 and December 24, 2014
  • Look for establishment number 'EST. 13205A' on the USDA inspection seal
  • Do not eat the product if you or anyone in your household has a peanut allergy
  • Throw away the product or return it to the store where you bought it
  • Call your doctor if you have allergic symptoms after eating this product
