Don't eat Chicharrones J&J rendered animal fat
Chicharrones J&J recalled approximately 2,064 pounds of rendered animal fat (lard) products produced between June 16 and October 12, 2016. The labels failed to declare milk (a known allergen) and sodium nitrite, which are actually in the product. People with milk allergies could have a serious reaction.
- Do not eat this product if you have it at home.
- Check your freezer or pantry for Chicharrones J&J Rendered Animal Fat in 1-lb, 2-lb, or 3-lb plastic containers with establishment number EST. 31638 on the USDA inspection seal.
- Throw away the product or return it to where you bought it.
- If you or a family member ate this product and have symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your doctor or poison control (1-800-222-1222).
