Greenland Trading Corp. squab (pigeon) meat recalled for missing import inspection
Check your freezer for recalled squab meat
Greenland Trading Corp. imported about 12,672 pounds of frozen squab (young pigeon) from France without proper U.S. import inspection. The products were shipped to Newark, New York, between July 2014 and February 2015. Without inspection, there is potential for foodborne illness.
- Look for "AL MARAAI SQUAB HALAL" labeled boxes (8.8 lb cartons with 12 individually wrapped squabs) bearing establishment number "79.213.004 CE"
- Do not eat the product if you have it
- Throw away or return the product to the store where purchased
- Contact your healthcare provider if you experience signs of foodborne illness (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever)
