Vermont Livestock Slaughter and Processing recalled approximately 133 pounds of ground beef sold at Bread & Butter Farm in Shelburne, Vermont, due to possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination. The contamination was linked to two illnesses in September 2017. The affected product is Bread & Butter Farm Ground Beef in 1-lb. vacuum-sealed packages with lot codes #072517BNB and #072417BNB, produced on July 24–25, 2017.
- Do not eat this ground beef; throw it away or return it to the store
- Check your freezer for packages with lot codes #072517BNB or #072417BNB
- If you or your family ate this ground beef and experience bloody diarrhea, severe abdominal cramps, or decreased urine output, seek emergency medical care
