Kapowsin Meats pork products recalled for potential Salmonella contamination
Do not eat Kapowsin Meats pork products
Kapowsin Meats in Washington recalled approximately 523,380 pounds of pork products, including whole hogs for barbecue, produced between April 18 and August 26, 2015, due to possible Salmonella contamination. The contamination was linked to at least 152 confirmed illnesses in Washington. The facility has voluntarily suspended operations.
- Do not consume any Kapowsin Meats pork products with establishment number EST. 1628 on the USDA inspection seal
- Throw away the product or return it to the store where you purchased it
- Check your freezer if you bought these products—they may still be stored there
- Seek medical care if you develop diarrhea, abdominal cramps, or fever within 72 hours of eating this product
