Jennie-O Turkey Store Sales recalled approximately 91,388 pounds of raw ground turkey products produced on September 11, 2018, due to possible Salmonella Reading contamination. The affected products include 93% lean, 85% lean, taco seasoned, and Italian seasoned ground turkey sold nationwide with use-by dates of October 1–2, 2018. The contamination was linked to a multistate outbreak affecting 164 people across 35 states.
- Do not eat Jennie-O ground turkey with use-by dates of 10/01/2018 or 10/02/2018 and establishment number P-190
- Throw away the product or return it to the store
- Cook all turkey and poultry to an internal temperature of 165°F to kill Salmonella
- Wash your hands after handling raw poultry or pet food to prevent cross-contamination
