Swift Beef ground beef recalled for E. coli O157:H7 contamination
Stop using Swift Beef and Blue Ribbon ground beef
Swift Beef Company is recalling approximately 99,260 pounds of raw ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, a harmful bacteria. The affected products were produced on October 24, 2018, and distributed to food service and processing facilities in California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. No illnesses have been reported so far.
- Do not eat Swift Beef or Blue Ribbon brand ground beef with product codes 42982, 42410, 42413, 42415, or 42510.
- Check for 'EST. 628' on the USDA inspection seal to confirm if your product is affected.
- Throw away the recalled ground beef or return it to where you bought it.
- Cook all ground beef to 165°F internal temperature to kill harmful bacteria.
- Seek medical care immediately if you develop bloody diarrhea, severe cramping, or reduced urination.
