Check Extra Value Meats beef patties for MSG label issue

Holten Meat Inc. recalled about 501,509 pounds of Extra Value Meats Quarter Pound Beef Patties because the packages did not list monosodium glutamate (MSG) as an ingredient, even though it was used in the product. The affected patties were produced between February 13 and July 28, 2015, and were sold nationwide and in the Bahamas. No illnesses have been reported.

  • Check your freezer for Extra Value Meats or Quick Serve Extra Value Meats beef patties with establishment number EST. 2591 and UPC #79821-00043
  • Do not serve the product if you or anyone eating it has a known MSG sensitivity
  • Contact your healthcare provider if you have concerns about an allergic reaction
  • Discard the product or return it to the store where you bought it
