Schrader Farms ground beef recalled for non-O157 E. coli contamination

Throw out Schrader Farms ground beef from September 2

Schrader Farms Meat Market recalled approximately 20 pounds of ground beef produced on September 2, 2015, because it may contain non-O157 Shiga toxin-producing E. coli bacteria. The contamination was discovered during routine testing. No illnesses have been reported so far, but the bacteria can cause serious illness.

  • Do not eat ground beef with a pack date of September 2, 2015 from Schrader Farms (establishment number Est. 44950).
  • Throw away the product or return it to where you bought it.
  • Check your freezer—the recalled product may still be frozen.
  • If you or your family develop diarrhea, vomiting, or bloody stools within 28 days, contact your doctor and mention the recalled beef.
