Jennie-O Turkey Store Sales, Inc. is recalling approximately 164,210 pounds of raw ground turkey products that may be contaminated with Salmonella Reading. The affected products were produced on October 22–23, 2018, and have "Use or freeze by" dates of December 11–13, 2018. This recall is part of a larger outbreak investigation involving 216 illnesses across 38 states.

  • Do not eat any Jennie-O ground turkey or Stater Bros. ground turkey with the affected dates and EST. P-579 establishment number.
  • Throw away the product or return it to the store where you bought it.
  • Always cook ground turkey to an internal temperature of 165°F, measured with a food thermometer.
  • Wash your hands, utensils, and surfaces after handling raw turkey to prevent cross-contamination.
