Swift Beef/JBS beef stew meat recalled for plastic and metal contamination
Don't eat Swift Beef stew meat
Swift Beef Company (JBS USA) is recalling approximately 4,702 pounds of fresh beef stew meat and prepared beef stew kits sold at HEB supermarkets in Texas. The products may contain plastic or metal pieces. HEB discovered the contamination on December 24, 2017, and immediately stopped sales and removed all affected stew meat from store shelves.
- Check your freezer for HEB beef stew meat or stew kits produced on December 13, 2017
- Look for establishment number EST. 3D or Est. 7231 on the package
- Do not eat the product; throw it away or return it to HEB
- Call USDA's meat hotline at 1-888-674-6854 if you have questions
