Laura's Lean, Kroger, and Private Selection ground beef recalled for E. coli O26
Throw out ground beef products from December 2021
Ground beef products sold in Oregon and Washington in December 2021 may be contaminated with E. coli O26, a harmful bacteria. The affected brands are Laura's Lean Beef, Kroger Ground Beef (multiple varieties), and Private Selection Angus Ground Sirloin. The products are no longer for sale, but may still be in home freezers.
- Do not eat these ground beef products if you have them; throw them away or return to the store
- Cook all ground beef to 160 °F internal temperature using a food thermometer
- Seek medical care if you develop bloody diarrhea, vomiting, or severe stomach pain
- Call the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-674-6854 with questions
