Farmstead and Clark Farms bacon products recalled for excess sodium nitrite
Do not eat Farmstead or Clark Farms bacon
Several brands of pork and beef bacon products contain unsafe levels of sodium nitrite, a curing ingredient. These products were made between April and May 2024 and sold at farmers markets, farm stores, and butcher counters in Kentucky and Tennessee. No illnesses have been reported.
- Do not eat any Farmstead Local House Smoked Bacon, Farmstead Butcher Block bacon, Clark Farms bacon, or Southwinds Cattle Company Smoked Beef Belly Bacon with the affected lot codes or sell-by dates.
- Throw away any of these products or return them to where you bought them.
- Call Farmstead Butcher Block at 270-200-4224 if you have questions.
