Hawaii Big Island Beef ground beef recalled for possible E. coli O157:H7

Throw out Hawaii Big Island Beef ground beef

Hawaii Big Island Beef ground beef products produced on August 8, 2022 may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, a bacteria that can cause serious illness. The products are no longer being sold, but USDA is alerting consumers who may have frozen or refrigerated packages at home.

Do not eat these products. Throw them away or return them to the store.
Check your freezer and refrigerator for packages with lot 220808 and pack date 08/08/22.
If you ate this meat, watch for diarrhea, bloody stools, and stomach cramps over the next 2–8 days. Contact a doctor if symptoms appear.
Always cook ground beef to 160°F internal temperature using a food thermometer.
