Empire Kosher raw chicken products recalled for possible Salmonella contamination
Do not eat Empire Kosher raw chicken
Empire Kosher Poultry raw chicken products sold from September 2017 to June 2018 may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. Health officials have linked these products to 17 illnesses across the northeastern and mid-Atlantic United States, with about half of those people hospitalized.
- Do not eat Empire Kosher brand raw chicken products from this time period, even if frozen
- Cook all raw chicken to an internal temperature of 165°F using a food thermometer before eating
- Wash hands, countertops, and sinks with hot soapy water after handling raw chicken
- Call Empire Kosher at 1-877-627-2803 if you have questions about your purchase
- Seek medical care if you develop diarrhea, abdominal cramps, or fever within 3 days of eating raw chicken
