Hormel SPAM Classic recalled for possible under-processing
Do not eat Hormel SPAM Classic from August 2023
Hormel Foods shipped some canned SPAM Classic that may not have been properly processed to kill harmful bacteria. The affected cans were produced on August 17, 2023, and sold at H.E.B. locations in Texas. No illnesses have been reported, but the product may still be in some homes.
- Check your pantry or refrigerator for 12-oz. SPAM Classic cans with "BEST BY AUG 2026" and lot code A08173 on the bottom
- Do not eat the product
- Throw it away or return it to H.E.B. where you purchased it
- Call Hormel at 1-800-523-4635 if you have questions
