Frozen raw stuffed chicken products recalled for possible Salmonella contamination
Cook frozen stuffed chicken to 165°F
The USDA found that frozen raw stuffed chicken products (like chicken cordon bleu and chicken Kiev) may be contaminated with Salmonella. Some products look ready to eat but are actually raw and require full cooking. Two separate illness clusters in Minnesota have been linked to these products.
- Cook all frozen stuffed chicken products to an internal temperature of 165°F using a food thermometer
- Keep raw chicken away from other foods and use separate cutting boards for raw poultry and produce
- Wash hands, cutting boards, and utensils with hot soapy water after handling raw chicken
- Contact your doctor if you develop diarrhea, abdominal cramps, or fever within 3 days of eating these products
