Kapowsin Meats whole hog roasters recalled for possible Salmonella contamination

Do not eat Kapowsin Meats roasted pigs

Kapowsin Meats whole hog roasters sold for barbecue may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. Three people in Washington became sick after eating these roasted pigs in early July 2016. The U.S. Department of Agriculture is investigating and working with the company to remove affected products.

  • Stop eating roasted whole hogs from Kapowsin Meats
  • Cook all pork to a minimum internal temperature of 145°F (use a food thermometer)
  • Wash hands, utensils, and surfaces that touched raw pork with hot soapy water
  • Seek medical care if you develop diarrhea, abdominal cramps, or fever after eating roasted pork
