Can-Am Outlander ATVs recalled for speed limiter malfunction
The speed limiter control on certain Can-Am Outlander ATVs can malfunction, causing unexpected speed and acceleration that increases the risk of losing control and crashing. This affects model years 2023–2026 Outlander Pro and Max Pro models equipped with Speed Limiter Mode that received a software update at a dealership on or after February 3, 2026. One rider has already been injured when the speed limiter failed, causing sudden acceleration and an ATV flip.
- Stop using Speed Limiter Mode immediately on your Can-Am Outlander ATV.
- Contact an authorized Can-Am Off-Road dealer to schedule a free software update (takes less than one hour).
- Find a dealer at https://can-am.brp.com/off-road/us/en/find-a-dealer.html#/search
- Check your VIN (10th character: P=2023, R=2024, S=2025, T=2026) on the front right frame to confirm your model year.
