Petzl America harnesses recalled for D-ring failure and fall risk
What this means
Petzl America is recalling three models of climbing and work harnesses (ASTRO BOD FAST, ASTRO SIT FAST, and CANYON GUIDE) because the D-ring attachment point can release unexpectedly. If the D-ring fails during use, the harness cannot safely hold a person, creating a serious fall risk.
- Stop using the recalled harness immediately if you own one of the affected models.
- Check the model and serial number on the label inside the waist belt against Petzl's list.
- Contact Petzl America at Aftersales_US@petzl.com for a free replacement D-ring kit.
