Daoen Zen magnetic ball sets recalled for intestinal perforation risk from magnet ingestion
Daoen Zen magnetic balls recalled for ingestion hazard
Daoen Inc. is recalling Zen-branded magnetic ball fidget toys because the high-powered magnets inside can be swallowed by children. When multiple magnets are ingested, they can attract each other and become stuck in the digestive system, potentially causing serious internal injuries or death.
- Stop letting children use these magnetic ball toys immediately.
- Remove the toys from children's access.
- Dispose of the product safely.

The recalled magnetic balls violate the mandatory standard for toys because they are loose high-powered magnets, posing an ingestion hazard to children. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, they can attract each other, or other metal objects, and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death.
