Yamaha Drive2 Electric Fleet Golf Cars recalled for passenger brake cable failure risk
Yamaha Drive2 fleet golf cars recalled for brake cable failure
The passenger-side brake cable on certain Yamaha Drive2 Electric Fleet Golf Cars (model years 2021–2022) may have been installed incorrectly during manufacturing. This misrouting can cause the cable to wear abnormally and break during use, which could cause a loss of braking control and serious injury or death.
- Stop using the golf car immediately if you own a 2021 or 2022 Yamaha Drive2 AC-L or J5B.
- Contact an authorized Yamaha Golf Car dealer to schedule a free inspection and cable replacement.
- If you cannot bring the golf car to a dealer, Yamaha will transport it or inspect and repair it at your location at no cost.
- Check your golf car's serial number (located under the seat on the frame) to confirm it is affected.
