Courant Kalimba climbing ropes recalled for fall hazard risk

The spliced ends on certain Courant Spliced Kalimba climbing ropes can fail unexpectedly during use. These ropes are designed for tree climbing and arborist work. The manufacturer has received three reports of splice failures, though no injuries have been reported yet.

  • Stop using the recalled rope immediately if you own one.
  • Check your rope's tag for the brand name, part number, and length to confirm if it's affected.

  • Return your rope using the pre-paid shipping label for a free replacement.

Remedy
Consumers should stop using the recalled ropes immediately and contact Wichard Groupe North America for a free replacement rope, including shipping. Consumers will be asked to complete the registration form at https://www.wichardgroupe.us/news/post/recall-spliced-kalimba to receive a pre-paid shipping label and instructions for returning the recalled product. Consumers will be offered one of two free replacement options; one with immediate availability and the other with availability beginning mid-September.
