Boston Scientific Direxion Torqueable Microcatheter recalled for coating defect risk
What this means
Boston Scientific has recalled certain Direxion Torqueable Microcatheters due to manufacturing defects. The hydrophilic coating on the outer surface of the distal segment may not have been properly cured, and nitinol sleeves may have raised ridges from laser cutting misalignment. These defects could affect device performance during use.
- Check if you have one of the affected batch numbers (37775591–40504733; full list available from Boston Scientific).
- Contact Boston Scientific or your healthcare provider if you have one of the recalled units.
- Do not use the device if it is confirmed to be in an affected batch.
The agency's original wording
