Molift Mover 300 mobile hoist recalled for bolt fracture risk during use
Stop using Molift Mover 300 hoists
The bolt that connects the lifting bar to the arm on certain Molift Mover 300 hoists can break due to material deformation in the joint. This can cause the lifting mechanism to become immobile and stop working properly, creating a safety risk during patient transfers.
- Stop using the device immediately if you own one of the affected model numbers (M1501, M1502, M1504, M15050, M15151, M15001, M15002)
- Check your serial number against the recall list provided by the manufacturer
- Contact ETAC A/S or your equipment supplier for instructions on repair or replacement
- Do not attempt to operate or load-test the device until it has been inspected
A customer experienced that during assembly and load testing of the device, the bolt for mounting the lifting bar broke. Upon further investigation of this customer complaint, it became clear that the defect occurs as a result of deformation of the materials involved between the lifting bar and the arm of the device. Such deformation can lead to limited mobility in the joint, which prevents proper functionality of the equipment.
