SporeTraq spore testing service recalled for incubation error
HF Acquisition Co LLC is recalling the SporeTraq Mail-In Spore Testing Service (52 tests) because some test strips were not incubated for the correct length of time. The test strips are used by healthcare facilities to verify that their sterilization equipment is working properly. Incorrect incubation times can produce unreliable test results.
- If you operate a healthcare facility using this service, contact HF Acquisition Co LLC or Mesa Labs about affected lot codes (DSS-122, DSS-125, DSS-128, DSS-131, DSS-134).
- Do not rely on results from affected test strips to confirm sterilizer effectiveness until you receive further guidance.

The Spore Strip (single species G. stearothermophilus ATCC#7953 or dual species G. stearothermophilus ATCC #7953 and B. atrophaeus ATCC #9372) is intended for use in testing the efficacy of sterilizer systems used in healthcare facilities. The Spore Strips are compatible with Steam sterilization, Chemiclave¿ sterilization, Ethylene Oxide sterilization, or Dry Heat sterilization processes.
