Ferno-Washington Power F2 stretcher system recalled for jamming risk

The roller assembly on the Ferno-Washington Power F2 Powered Fastening System may wear unevenly and deform, causing the rail mechanism to jam. If this happens, the stretcher cannot move along the rail—either with the powered system or manually—potentially delaying patient transport to a hospital.

  • Check if your ambulance has a Power F2 system with one of the affected serial numbers listed in the recall notice
  • Contact Ferno-Washington or your local EMS authority for inspection and repair instructions
  • Do not rely solely on the powered fastening system until the device is inspected
Hazard

Product may experience accelerated roller wear and potential deformation due to interference between the roller assembly and rail. In the worst-case condition, rail mechanism may become lodged during operation and movement of the stretcher along the rail may no longer be possible through either powered or manual operation. May cause delays in transport of patient to healthcare facility.
