Medline neuro surgical kits recalled for elevated endotoxin levels in sponges

Certain lots of Medline neuro surgical convenience kits containing Pilling Wecksorb Neurosponges and Neurosponge Strips have higher-than-allowed levels of endotoxin, a bacterial substance that can trigger immune responses. These kits are used in neurosurgical procedures. No injuries have been reported.
