Preema brand food color powders recalled for banned dyes and undeclared allergens

Stop using Preema food color powders

Preema brand Bright Red and Orange Food Colour Powders contain carmoisine, a banned food dye, and undeclared FD&C Yellow 5 and FD&C Red 40. These undeclared dyes may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals and can affect attention in children. The products were distributed in New York and Massachusetts.

  • Stop using Preema Bright Red Food Colour Powder (Batch 3757, Best Before 05/2027) and Orange Food Colour Powder (Batch 3902, Best Before 08/2027)
  • Do not use these products in food preparation or consumption
  • Discard the bottles or return them to the retailer where purchased
  • Contact your doctor if you or your child consumed these products and experienced an allergic reaction
