Food recalls

A specific lot of Mezzetta Golden Greek Peperoncini Medium Heat (32 oz.) may contain a pest contaminant in the jar. The company identified the issue after a consumer video circulated on social media and immediately launched a voluntary recall of the affected lot. No illnesses or injuries have been reported.

Berlin Seeds is recalling 950 pounds of alfalfa sprouting seed sold from February to August 2026 because it may be contaminated with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC) and/or Salmonella. The contamination was identified after a sprout grower using this seed was linked to a multistate outbreak investigation. One illness has been reported.

Star Meat Delivery Inc. produced approximately 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef, and goat products without federal inspection and labeled them with a false USDA inspection mark (establishment number EST. 1363). The products were distributed in bulk under the A&D Foods label to retailers and restaurants nationwide. Global Mix Inc. is recalling Niwali Tejocote Capsules and Niwali Tejocote Pieces because FDA testing found the products actually contain yellow oleander (Thevetia peruviana), a highly toxic plant. All parts of yellow oleander contain cardiac glycosides that can cause severe or fatal effects including nausea, vomiting, heart rhythm changes, and organ damage.

GF Blends recalled Truly AIP All Purpose Flour and Bread Mix, and EAT G.A.N.G.S.T.E.R. Flat Bread Pizza Mix because they contain undeclared wheat gluten. The contamination came from plantain flour supplied by a third party that tested positive for gluten at levels well above FDA safety limits. People with celiac disease or severe gluten intolerance could experience allergic reactions or other adverse health effects.
