Niwali Tejocote Capsules and Pieces recalled for toxic yellow oleander contamination
What this means
Global Mix Inc. is recalling Niwali Tejocote Capsules and Niwali Tejocote Pieces because FDA testing found the products actually contain yellow oleander (Thevetia peruviana), a highly toxic plant. All parts of yellow oleander contain cardiac glycosides that can cause severe or fatal effects including nausea, vomiting, heart rhythm changes, and organ damage.
- Stop using these products immediately if you have them
- Do not consume any remaining product
- Return the bottles to where you purchased them for a full refund, or call Global Mix Inc. at (646) 419-5884 (Mon–Fri, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. ET) to arrange a refund
- If you have consumed the product and have health concerns, contact your doctor or call 1-800-FDA-1088 to report any symptoms
