Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram vehicles recalled for rearview camera display failure
What this means
The rearview camera image may fail to display when certain 2026–2027 Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram vehicles are placed in reverse. This reduces the driver's ability to see behind the vehicle, increasing crash risk. A software update will fix the problem.
- Check your vehicle's VIN on NHTSA.gov starting August 20, 2026, to see if it is affected.
- Wait for an owner notification letter from Chrysler (mailing began September 2, 2026).
- Contact a Chrysler dealer or call 800-853-1403 to schedule a free radio software update or receive an over-the-air update.
The agency's original wording
A rearview camera image that fails to display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Radio software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning September 2, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 78D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 20, 2026.
