Heil Co. front loader garbage trucks recalled for CNG cylinder damage risk from faulty ladder bolt
What this means
Certain 2016–2026 Heil front loader garbage trucks with replacement CNG tailgate ladder kits may have an incorrect bolt installed in one ladder leg. This bolt can contact and damage the CNG cylinders, which may leak fuel and increase fire risk.
- Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) against Heil's recall list at 1-866-275-4345.
- If your truck is affected, contact Heil customer service to schedule a free ladder bracket replacement.
- Reference recall number SN-26-001 when you call.

Hazard
A damaged CNG tank can leak fuel, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Heil will replace the ladder bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters were September 25, 2026. Owners may contact Heil's customer service at 1-866-275-4345. Heil's number for this recall is SN-26-001.
