Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee, Grand Wagoneer, Cherokee recalled for tire pressure monitor system software error
What this means
A software error in the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) may prevent the warning light from alerting drivers to low tire pressure. This affects certain 2024–2026 Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee, Grand Cherokee L, Grand Cherokee 4XE, Grand Wagoneer, and Cherokee models. Without this warning, drivers may not notice dangerously low tire pressure, increasing crash risk.
- Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) against the recall list on NHTSA.gov starting September 9, 2026.
- Contact your Jeep dealer or FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403 to schedule a free software update.
- Until the update is completed, monitor your tire pressure manually with a tire gauge.
The agency's original wording
A TPMS warning light that fails to notify the driver of low tire pressure increases the risk of a crash.
Dealers will update the radio frequency hub software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning September 17, 2026. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 54D.
