Cadillac OPTIQ window automatic reversal system recalled for pinch injury risk
What this means
Certain 2025–2027 Cadillac OPTIQ vehicles have a front window that may not reverse direction when an obstruction (like a finger or hand) is detected during the express-up function controlled by the key fob. A window that fails to reverse can pinch a passenger.
- Check if your vehicle is affected by searching your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on NHTSA.gov.
- Contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 for a free software update.
- A dealer or over-the-air update will be available to fix the window reversal system.
The agency's original wording
A closing window that does not reverse direction as expected can pinch a passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.
The body control module (BCM) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 9, 2026. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N262567230. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 24, 2026.
