Lincoln Navigator recalled for front seat that may move unexpectedly

Ford is recalling certain 2025-2027 Lincoln Navigator vehicles because the rear audio control module may unexpectedly activate the chauffeur seat feature. This can cause the front passenger seat to move forward, backward, or recline without anyone adjusting it. The seat could contact second-row passengers or place the front passenger in an unsafe position, increasing the risk of injury.

What to do

  1. Check whether your vehicle is included by entering its VIN at NHTSA.gov, where the recalled VINs became searchable on October 26, 2026.
  2. Dealers will update the accessory protocol interface module and rear audio control module software to disable chauffeur mode, free of charge.
  3. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in November 2026.
  4. Contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 about recall 26S77.

Description
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2025-2027 Lincoln Navigator vehicles. The Rear Audio Control Module (RACM) may inadvertently command the chauffeur seat feature, causing the front passenger seat to adjust forward, rearward, or recline unexpectedly without occupant input. A front passenger seat that moves unexpectedly can contact second-row passengers, or force the front passenger into an unsafe seating position, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy
Dealers will update the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) and rear audio control module (RACM) software to disable chauffeur mode, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in November 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S77. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on October 26, 2026.
