BYD Coach & Bus school buses recalled over wheelchair lift risk
BYD Coach & Bus is recalling about 15 certain 2023-2024 Ride Type A school buses. An electrical contactor may fail, so the controls may not be able to stop the wheelchair lift, which can keep moving while occupied and raises the risk of injury. No injuries have been reported.

What to do
- Call BYD customer service at 1-661-940-3250 and reference recall number CAMP-082826-1105.
- BYD will work with Ricon to correct the wiring by installing two diodes, at no cost to owners.
- Watch for owner notification letters, which are expected to be mailed December 21, 2026.
