Jewel-Osco bratwurst and Italian sausage recalled for lack of import inspection
Do not eat Jewel-Osco sausage products
Jowett Farms Corporation imported raw pork trimmings from Canada in April 2020 that were not properly inspected before entering the U.S. The pork was then processed into Jewel-Osco brand bratwurst and Italian sausage products. These sausages were distributed to stores in Michigan and may be in home freezers or refrigerators.
- Do not eat Jewel-Osco Sheboygan Brand Bratwurst, Mild Italian Sausage, or Hot Italian Sausage with "sell by" date of 4/17/20
- Look for establishment number "EST. 7779" on the USDA inspection seal
- Throw away the product or return it to the store where you bought it
- Contact a doctor if you have concerns about your health
