Great Value, Econo Mini, Sedano's, and Carmela Foods chicken sausage products recalled for undeclared MSG

Check chicken sausage packages for MSG labeling

Century Packing Corp. recalled approximately 999,419 pounds of chicken sausage products because they contain monosodium glutamate (MSG) that was not listed on the label. The affected products were made between January 2015 and February 2017 and sold in Florida and Puerto Rico, including to schools. No illnesses have been reported.

  • Check your freezer for Great Value Minis, Econo Mini, Sedano's, or Carmela Foods chicken sausage with pack dates from 01/2015 to 02/2017
  • Look for establishment number "P-7375" inside the USDA inspection seal on the package
  • Do not eat the recalled products if you have a severe MSG sensitivity
  • Contact your retailer or call (787) 716-2555 with questions
