Triple T Specialty Meats chicken salad recalled for Salmonella contamination
Discard Triple T chicken salad from Fareway stores
Triple T Specialty Meats recalled approximately 20,630 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken salad produced between January 2 and February 7, 2018, due to possible Salmonella Typhimurium contamination. The products were sold under the Fareway Wholesale Company label at Fareway grocery stores in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. An investigation linked the salad to 37 confirmed cases of Salmonella illness in Iowa.
- Check your freezer for chicken salad in 5-pound bags labeled 'Chicken Salad, Packed for Fareway Wholesale Company' with pack dates between January 2 and February 7, 2018
- Do not eat the product; throw it away or return it to the store
- If you or family members ate this salad and develop diarrhea, abdominal cramps, or fever within 3 days, contact a doctor
