Don't eat La Guadalupana chicken tamales

La Guadalupana Wholesale in Chicago recalled about 8,856 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken tamales produced between December 1, 2014 and January 5, 2015. The tamales were made without proper food safety controls required for ready-to-eat products, and were not tested for Listeria monocytogenes, a harmful bacteria. The facility also failed to follow required safety procedures when packaging the cooked product near raw food.

  • Do not eat La Guadalupana brand chicken tamales with establishment number P-21094 and pack dates from November 19, 2014 to January 4, 2015
  • Throw away the product or return it to the store
