Discard La Guadalupana chicken tamales

La Guadalupana Wholesale, Inc. in Chicago recalled approximately 8,856 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken tamales produced between December 1, 2014 and January 5, 2015 because they were not made under required food safety programs. The facility failed to follow proper procedures to prevent Listeria contamination and did not have an approved safety plan in place.

  • Do not eat La Guadalupana brand chicken tamales with pack dates from November 19, 2014 to January 4, 2015
  • Throw out any of these tamales you have at home
  • Call your doctor if you develop fever, muscle aches, or severe headache after eating these tamales
