Greater Omaha Packing raw beef recalled for possible E. coli O157:H7
Do not use Greater Omaha Packing raw beef
Greater Omaha Packing recalled approximately 295,236 pounds of raw beef products made on July 13, 2021, because they may contain E. coli O157:H7 bacteria. The contamination was discovered during routine testing. The products were distributed to further processors in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Nebraska. No illnesses have been reported so far.
- Check if you have any raw beef from Greater Omaha Packing (establishment number 'EST. 960A' inside the USDA inspection mark) produced on July 13, 2021.
- Do not cook or eat the recalled product. Discard it or return it to the store.
- Cook all raw beef to 145°F (rest 3 minutes) or ground beef to 160°F to kill harmful bacteria.
- Call your doctor if you develop diarrhea, bloody stools, severe stomach cramps, or decreased urination within 8 days of eating recalled beef.
