K2D Foods ground beef recalled for E. coli O103 contamination
Don't eat K2D Foods ground beef
K2D Foods (doing business as Colorado Premium Foods) recalled approximately 113,424 pounds of raw ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O103. The contaminated beef was produced between March 26 and April 12, 2019, and was distributed to restaurants in Florida and Georgia. A strain of E. coli O103 matching the outbreak was detected in raw beef collected from a restaurant during the investigation.
- If you purchased or consumed ground beef from K2D Foods or Colorado Premium Foods with a 'Use By' date of 4/14/19, 4/17/19, 4/20/19, 4/23/19, 4/28/19, or 4/30/19, do not eat it.
- Throw away the product or return it to the store.
- If you ate this beef and develop diarrhea, vomiting, or bloody stools within 2–8 days, contact a doctor and mention the potential E. coli exposure.
- Seek emergency care if you develop severe bruising, pale skin, or decreased urination, especially if you are a young child or elderly.
