Skyline Provisions beef products recalled for E. coli O157:H7 contamination
Don't eat Skyline Provisions beef products
Skyline Provisions, Inc. in Harvey, Illinois recalled approximately 1,029 pounds of beef products that tested positive for E. coli O157:H7. The contaminated beef was sold as intact cuts to a Chicago butcher, where it was ground into hamburger and sold to consumers. The contamination was discovered during routine USDA testing in April 2015.
- Do not eat any beef products from Skyline Provisions or Jack & Pat's Old Fashioned Market from April 15–25, 2015.
- If you have this product frozen at home, throw it away or return it to the store.
- Cook all ground beef to an internal temperature of 160°F (verified with a food thermometer) to kill harmful bacteria.
- Seek emergency medical care if you develop bloody diarrhea, severe abdominal cramps, or signs of kidney failure (bruising, pale skin, or reduced urination).
