Don't eat Publix ground chuck or blade beef
Publix Super Markets is recalling ground chuck and blade beef products sold from June 25 to July 31, 2018, because they may contain E. coli O26 bacteria. This recall was triggered by 18 confirmed illnesses in Florida linked to these products.
- Do not eat ground chuck or blade beef purchased from Publix during June 25–July 31, 2018.
- Throw away the product or return it to your local Publix store.
- Check your freezer—frozen packages may still be stored there.
- If you have symptoms (diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps) after eating this product, contact your doctor and report it to local health authorities.
- Wash your hands, countertops, and utensils with hot soapy water after handling raw meat.
